We will study the book of Hebrews with emphasis on how the Old Testament sets up a reader to understand the message of the book. Along with many allusions, Hebrews includes 35 direct quotations from the OT. The author argues that God’s glory and redemptive plan are fully, finally and most clearly revealed in Jesus Christ. When we realize that the strength of our faith is rooted in the object of our faith, we can understand and help others understand that Jesus is not only the better way (when compared to Judaism), but the only way to God.
