Our church has long been committed to serving our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Historically, one of the primary ways we've done that is through hosting MCREST (Macomb County Rotating Emergency Shelter Team) guests in our building, however MCREST recently ended their rotating shelter program. So, since our commitment to serve our neighbors remains the same, we will pivot in line with MCREST's request to serve the women and children in their on-site shelter program.
This service opportunity is for anyone who would like to be a part of hospitality programming at MCREST's facility during dinner (7:00pm) and ending at the close of doors (9:00pm). The expectation is to eat dinner with the guests, then spend quality time with anyone who is looking for it! Some of the programming is as follows:
- Devotional and Discussion
- Haircuts
- Kids Ministry Activities
- Other activities as people are passionate
