Our church has long been committed to serving our neighbors experiencing homelessness. Historically, one of the primary ways we've done that is through hosting MCREST (Macomb County Rotating Emergency Shelter Team) guests in our building, however MCREST recently ended their rotating shelter program. So, since our commitment to serve our neighbors remains the same, we will pivot in line with MCREST's request to serve the women and children in their on-site shelter program.
This service opportunity would include preparing breakfast for the guests at the MCREST facility. The plan is to pre-cook hot breakfast the night before that can simply be reheated and served in the morning. On days we choose to serve continental style breakfast, your responsibility would be to arrive at the MCREST facility and set breakfast out for meal service.
